When we understand the foundation to keep an overall healthy lifestyle, we can dive into a unique concept that I love very much. As a believer that everything is related, having a balance between the mind and the body is crucial.
Here is why I love Intuitive and Mindful eating.
Let’s get to know a little bit about this beautiful concept so you can experiment it while you’ll have a meal from today.
First, what is Health?
Health is equilibrium. When we experience balance and harmony in our mind-body-soul, we rich the optimal state of health, free ourselves from diseases which are the disturbance of our wellbeing.
When I say that I’m not a big fan of diet-plans (Why Most Diets fail) is because I believe that when you tuned into what your body signals are, and you listen to them, you create your wellbeing. It is crucial knowing how to start building that awareness to reach a lifestyle that makes you feel good.
Intuitive eating is extraordinary.
Your body has its intelligence, and if you listen to it, you will discover a new whole world made of benefits for your entire system including the mind. You do have your intuition, everybody does. Have you ever experience that feeling in your belly that tells you to do or not to do something? To trust or not trust that person? You better listen to it always, and “Go with your gut!”.
I use the Intuitive Eating Method my own, and I apply that in my practice while working with people because it has nothing to do with diets and restrictions, so you will not fall into disappointment and that sense of failure. The truth is that nobody likes to live in limitation because it gives you that sense of punishment while you lose your freedom. We want freedom! We like to be able to choose!
You always have a choice.
Eating with intuition gives you a choice while you reconnect with your body and mind trusting them because they will provide you with the correct information to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
The science behind the Intuitive Eating Method created by two dieticians Evelyn Tribole and Elyse Resch in 1995 approach the act of eating food every day while you tune into your body needs. It breaks the stereotype of dieting plans creating a good relationship with your meals.
If you think you got to understand what is the Intuitive Eating you will be curious to know what is Mindful Eating and why they are very much related.
What’s Mindful Eating.
Mindful eating is an approach to food that will help you create fantastic habits around the way you eat your meals. A Mindful eater can benefit from this strategy in so many ways from weight loss, reduce binge eating, raise awareness around emotions while eating, and overall reach optimal wellbeing.
I’m sure you are already familiar with Meditation. Meditation is a technique that brings peace and tranquillity state of mind and fulfills it with positive vibes. When practiced as an everyday ritual, can transform your wellbeing. It will develop concentration, clarity, positivity. Now, imagine bringing this in your whole body. Sounds amazing right?
While eating and also before and after meals you can use your awareness to recognize your emotions and sensation in your body and your mind.
When you eat mindfully, you can solve many issues and food-related disorders.
Are you eating because you are hungry or because you are nervous, bored, lonely, depressed, anxious? Here is the difference. Eating to nurture your physical needs is very different than eating to nurture your feelings.
