Calm your body and your mind: two simple ways to do it!

June 13, 2019, Author: annalisa

Having good quality well-being consists in having a reliable system. Of course, it is essential having a healthy routine around the food we eat, but if when we eat even the healthiest foods, we are stressed on a mental or spiritual level, our body must first face other needs that have certainly nothing to do with assimilating all the necessary nutrients. Instead, it will focus on getting us out of the stressful moment by consuming all the energy that our meals provide us. For instance, our brain does not distinguish whether we are going to be eaten by a hungry lion in the middle of the forest or if we are fighting with our colleague at the office or again if we are having an anxiety attack while stuck in traffic. Our brain perceives a dangerous situation and must save us! How? Using all the possible resources we have inside our body that we assimilate through the food we eat. That is why it is so important having some quick solutions that we can adopt while we are in distress situations. There are several techniques and therapies nowadays that can help us to calm our body and mind. For instance, think about our beloved meditation, one ancient holistic and natural approach that has been used from years all over the world — or maybe going to a therapist, someone who can help us deal with issues we might have in our life. Or again an activity that can help us […]

Have you heard of Mercury Retrograding?

March 8, 2019, Author: annalisa

Today I want to share with you how to “survive” during these periods of the year. Mercury retrograding is for me a fascinating topic, and when I got to know about it, I wanted to understand it better because I noticed it was affecting me very much. During these days Mercury started to retrograding exactly on March 5th and will stop on March 28th ending the post-shadows on April 16th. If you are energetically very sensible as I am, it can be heavy. Now that I understand it better than before I’m looking into it with a fun eye. What I’m here to share with you is what to do when we experience this phenomenon. It’s time to turn inward. Planets movements and moon phases can affect our behaviors and our routine. You’ll notice communication may be influenced, you may feel more tired than usual, emails can be messy, travel plan can be changed, contracts not be signed, you can misunderstand things while conversating with others, your relationships can be affected as well. Isn’t that interesting? You could also experience this disturbing energy to carry around or encountering more fights with people than usual.  Do not fall into the trap. Just start to be aware of this planetarian movement and take a breath because communication works oppositely than we expect. So what to do when Mercury is having fun with us? During these days all we have to do is turn inward and trust our intuition. Go with the flow. […]

7 tips for drinking more water!

August 31, 2018, Author: annalisa

When I talk to people, and they ask me for some tips for a better lifestyle, water is one of the first things I bring out. I will never be tired of advising people about drinking more water. Today I want to chat with you about how much water you need to drink to stay hydrated AND to offer you 7 of my simple how-to tips for drinking more water every day! First, why am I talking about drinking more water anyway? I have been talking about the importance of water before because when I discovered that the average of Americans used to drink water as a second choice, I was shocked. That means that the first beverages they drank were Sodas, Coca Cola, Coffee, Soft Drinks, Pepsi, etc. Thankfully, according to research for the first time in 2016, Americans drank more bottled water than other soft drinks. I was genuinely pleased when I got to know it because that indicated that after all the activity and effort that professional people in the Wellness industry make every day finally we get to see positives results. People begin to understand a way to stay more healthy. Water is the fluid that lubricates our systems and keeps us healthy and vibrant. Think of a riverbed in a drought when it’s all dried up and cracking, where the water is so sparse that there’s no life in it. Now compare your body to that riverbed and imagine what you are doing to it […]

What the word “Diet” makes you think?

August 17, 2018, Author: annalisa

When I think about diet plans, suddenly one word comes into my mind: restriction. With that also develops a feeling of frustrations, overwhelming, nervousness, resistance, revolution. Diet makes me think about all those sensations that don’t make me feel relaxed and calm. So many diet plans are out there. For instance, Paleo, Mediterranean, Raw, Dukan, Blood Type, Atkins, Ketogenic, Zone, etc. It can be crazy confusing to chose the best. Let me explain. Would you go on a road trip to an unknown destination without getting to understand what to expect? Without knowing what dresses you have to bring, if it’s hot or freezing, what is going to be the weather, where you can eat or sleep, and not be in starvation for days, or have a map to follow? Maybe you are more adventurous than me, but the point is not knowing what to expect and especially having the doubt of not getting to your goals can result in frustration and sadness. What I have seen happening a lot is when people get into the path of dieting, they may start getting some results and stick with that plan for a little period. Next, it will be inevitable the “fall off of the track.” For example, if the goal you got in mind was to losing weight, you will end up gaining even more weight than before including a sense of failure. There is a little secret I want to share with you. Not an adequate diet is out […]
