What the word “Diet” makes you think?

When I think about diet plans, suddenly one word comes into my mind: restriction. With that also develops a feeling of frustrations, overwhelming, nervousness, resistance, revolution. Diet makes me think about all those sensations that don’t make me feel relaxed and calm. So many diet plans are out there. For instance, Paleo, Mediterranean, Raw, Dukan, Blood Type, Atkins, Ketogenic, Zone, etc. It can be crazy confusing to chose the best. Let me explain. Would you go on a road trip to an unknown destination without getting to understand what to expect? Without knowing what dresses you have to bring, if it’s hot or freezing, what is going to be the weather, where you can eat or sleep, and not be in starvation for days, or have a map to follow? Maybe you are more adventurous than me, but the point is not knowing what to expect and especially having the doubt of not getting to your goals can result in frustration and sadness. What I have seen happening a lot is when people get into the path of dieting, they may start getting some results and stick with that plan for a little period. I love writing my weekly blog, and I missed it while on standby during my month in Italy. Even if I didn’t write, I collected pictures, sensations, emotions about this fantastic time there. It’s inspirational traveling around. Looking at fabulous places while having a chance to think about your life, your journey, why you are here, and what you can share with others it’s a great opportunity. In my last trip I touched base Sardinia and Liguria, and my eyes got to see beautiful landscaping. I tasted delicious local products while enjoying the peace of some of the gorgeous places in the world. Starting from Levanto, visiting Cinque Terre, passing by Portofino, Sanremo, Bordighera, and Montecarlo. Then flew to Arbatax in Sardinia and finally spent sometimes in Villasimius. Traveling is one of the best experience we can have. I used to run all the time, thinking that if I stopped, I would have slowed down, and that was a negative thing to me especially for my business. Eventually, I’ve learned that slowing down is not always wrong. I got to realize one crucial point. Slowing down gave me the change of finding a better balance in my life. Is Coca-Cola one of your favorite drinks? Do you feel that some days your desire is diving into a bathtub full of chocolate? Have you ever had the feeling that you will survive only if you eat that piece of cake waiting for you inside your fridge? I’ve been there and that sensations are so hard to resist. I was chatting with one my friend last night, lovely person, and he sent me this picture of some HEALTHY foods he bought for his beloved cats. My eyes in the middle of all the grocery products spotted a bottle of Coca-Cola. The first thing I asked him was: “Why are you buying healthy food for your cats while you instead drink Coca-Cola.” He said straight to me that he loves sugar and he is addicted at this point to it. I’d love to cheers to all the great mothers and women out there. I want to dedicate my weekly newsletter to all the mothers and women! We celebrate Mother’s Day in many countries around the globe. It’s a significant event that we honor. Today probably is more of a commercial occasion that sells experiences and merchandise, but let’s not forget about the importance of our moms and women around us. When I think about my mom, I see strength, courage, determination, and overall honesty! Still today she is my pillar, and she always will be. I have learned over the years to appreciate everything she has done for me. All the energy she put into our family to raise my brother and me without never fall. Especially today that I’m an adult I can understand the effort she put into it. I had never seen her tired or complain. As an adult now I realized the efforts that take to raise a family and try to hold everything else together. A Mother by definition is a woman in relation to her child or children. A person who brings up a child with care and affection or give birth to a child, but I’m convinced that is more than that.
