The importance of being in contact with Mother Nature

“And into the Forest, I go to lose my mind and find my soul” Isn’t this a great quote? I love it. It’s an unknown Author, but it truly resonates with me. I love to do it because it brings me clarity and inspiration.

Reconnecting with Mother Nature to me is also reconnecting with my roots, with the inner self.

Theodore Roszak said, “When you ask people who are heavily stressed to imagine a relaxing scene, no one envisions a freeway or shopping mall. Instead, they always imaged the deserts, the forests, the sea, and the starry skies.”

The need we have to be in contact with Nature is inside our genes. Edward O. Wilson, an American biologist, says that inside every one of us, there is an innate love for Nature, a sense of connection with the environment. Our ancestors lived for millions of years maintaining close contact with Nature, and respecting its rhythms: it’s not possible that a few thousand years, in evolutionary terms, a short period – would be enough to delete such a deeply rooted experience. ”

Here is why I feel to share with you the benefits you can get from Nature, and all the holistic experiences available to us.

When we live in harmony with ourselves and the universe that surrounds us, we can benefit from that and find our inner peace.

I often mentioned how powerful is leaving a simple life, and how beneficial it is to enjoy natural things in terms of foods, drink, wellness, activity. A hard thing to do sometimes since processed meals surround us, beverages, electronic devices all day long, running the days through obsessive rhythms. Living more simply and disconnect from the craziness of our routine can be much easier than what we are used to thinking.

That’s why even Roszak said that Nature represents a place to escape, where we can finally relax, where we can find ourselves and be in touch with our origins.
In contact with Nature, we can find our freedom.

There countless proven benefits of being in touch with Nature, and here some I’ll share:

  • REDUCE STRESS

My favorite one is that it helps to reduce stress dramatically. Just a simple walk in a peaceful place promotes mental health, reduce anxiety and depression, and help you to gain a higher sense of vitality.

  • ENHANCE CREATIVITY

When we reconnect with Nature, ignoring for a period all the technological types of equipment, we can increase our creativity and ability to solve problems.

  • INCREASE SELF-ESTEEM

Be in Nature while we practice some activity, like horse riding, gardening, jogging, biking, running, yoga, meditation, it gives a boost to our self-esteem.

  • IMPROVE MEMORY

If we think that it could be just enough to look at an image of a natural landscape to increase our short-term memory, then think about having a regular connection with Nature how could improve our cognitive functions.

These are just a few incredible advantages of giving yourself space to connect with Mother Nature.
Think about what you like to do while you are outside and choose an ideal place where you can unite with your inner peace. Do it often instead of watching TV, play video games, sitting on the sofa, spending energies complaining at something or arguing with someone, etc..

Try to wake up every day with a positive mindset and create a ritual which will boost your energy.
